Sundara Karma - Live

Recent support slots with The Wombats and Darlia have supported the buzz which has been steadily building for Sundara Karma for the last couple of years and propelled them into their belated EP launch at London’s renowned talent breaking hot bed The Sebright Arms. Given the strength and accessibility of their radio friendly indie rock anthems and the support the band has received from BBC Introducing and Radio 1, it can only be a matter of time before the band's star starts to shoot through the new music ceiling.

With the potential for a chin-stroking East London muso crowd to pour scorn over your Fearne Cotton-hyped singles, the fresh-out-of-school Reading four-piece could have been forgiven a few nerves but instead took the event in their stride, tucked the hair behind their ears and tore through their set with a confident nonchalance.

Watchable, self assured and with a genuinely unique and encapsulating vocal to front their sound, their seven song set was sadly over almost as soon as it had really gotten going. From the dreamy indie wash of ‘Cold Heaven’ to chest pumper ‘Loveblood’ and aquatic sex appeal of Indie-n-B  jam ‘Indigo Puff’, the hooks, melodies, song writing craft and misleadingly mature taste were ever present.

The criminally under played ‘Waves’ pretty much sums up the understated excitement of one of the UK’s most impressive and promising young breaking bands so stop reading these silly words and start listening:
